I’ll be Interviewing Shark Tank’s “I Want to Draw a Cat For You” Entrepreneur, Steve Gadlin!

by Carissa Dunphy on June 10, 2012

Myself and the entire Ovaleye team are big fans of ABC’s hit TV show, Shark Tank, where entrepreneurs pitch a business proposal to billionaire investors in attempt to raise capital for equity in their company. I’ve been watching and learning from the show since it’s began, but my all time favorite entrepreneur who has appeared on the show is from the most recent season.

Steve Gadlin walked into the “Shark Tank” with a super catchy song, a simple, yet funny dance and asked for $10,000 for a 25% stake in his company. While every investor loved his pitch, not to mention got his song stuck in their heads, Steve ended up walking away with $25,000 from Billionaire Mark Cuban for 33% of his company.

Ovaleye Cat DrawingYou may be asking, what is so catchy about a song and dance? Well, add on the fact that Steve draws cats. Stick cats. Yes, really – you know, like stick people, but cats.  Kathy, Ovaleye‘s Chief Decision Maker, and I host a weekly show on Ovaleye.tv, the Small Businesses Do It Better Show. We wanted so badly to talk to Steve about his business. After all, who else could not only draw cats for a living, but get a Billionaire to back him? No one.
<– Check out the cat drawing Steve drew for Ovaleye!

Our live interview with Steve is just a few days away, this Tuesday, June 12th at 7pm PST/10pm EST at ovaleye.tv/live

Here’s my own rendition of Steve’s “I Want to Draw a cat For You” dance. Enjoy :)
