The 8 Websites I Visit Most Often

by Carissa Dunphy on May 10, 2011

Where is my time spent in this cloud? This is a list of the websites I visit most often, and most of these complete a day of mine on the internet.

Hootsuite Social Media is an addiction and Hootsuite makes it easy to get my fix. All of my networks, different accounts and feeds in one place. The organizational structure makes filtering everyone super easy so you see more of what you want. BIG bonus is being able to schedule tweets or facebook posts!

Gmail I use Gmail, but I also have accounts imported to Gmail. The main reason I set it up this way is because the Gmail account on my iPhone fetches mail, while my other accounts do not. In this case, it fetches all imported accounts too. I’m all about consolidation and Gmail puts all of my accounts in one place, and even color coded!

Facebook Again with social media, I know. Hootsuite is my primary twitter tool, but I use Facebook for Facebook. I love being able to login as my brand’s page and have an entirely different feed to read and comment on. For some odd reason I, along with most people, feel the urge to read about people’s random personal “TMI” posts.

Adwords Keyword Tool Yes, I’m a geek ;) This site is frequented often for many reasons: finding keywords to optimize a clients website or blog, creating or modifying an adwords campaign for a client, finding keywords for my own blog, it’s even good to use as a thesaurus!

People Yet another guilty pleasure. Why do we feel the need to know what celebrities have been up to! This site is a pure time suck and nothing productive comes of it, not even blog post ideas. It’s a total waste of time, yet I am compelled to continue visiting.

Mashable THE best website for news about social media, tech/gadgets, business, marketing, web tips, etc. Mashable is constantly updated with new stories, good stories. They are the CNN of the social media world with all of the hot stories.

WordPress Dashboards Whether my own blog or a client’s, it sometimes seems as though I stare at WordPress all day. I’m not complaining, I love helping people with their websites and perfecting my own, and WordPress is an AMAZING platform to build a website with.

Netflix They make it easy to watch tv and movies! Our family regularly watches Netflix content on our computer, blu-ray player and iPhones.  Your movie queue is made easily available on all platforms. I’m sure their customer base grows simply on the fact that you can access your content from so many sources.
