Shorten your Google+ profile URL from https://plus.google.com/112492451130151679289 to gplus.to/CarissaDunphy by going to http://gplus.to and requesting your vanity URL
Don’t forget to customize your privacy settings for your profile. Click the gear in the top right corner.
You can receive text message notifications from Google+ by entering your mobile number into your delivery preferences in settings.
Mute post updates by clicking “mute this post” located in the bottom right corner of the post.

Share gmail content to Google+ by clicking “share” in the top right corner of gmail

Formatting your post
Bold: enclose your content within asterix *example* = example
Strikethrough: enclose your content within hyphens -example- = example
Underline: enclose your content within underscores _example_ = example
Italicize: preface your content with an underscore, add an asterix afterwards _example* = example
Link to a name in an update: type the + symbol before typing a name and it will bring up listings to choose from

Import your Facebook contacts to Google+
(requires a Yahoo account) by following these steps:
- Go to Yahoo Mail Contacts
- Click “Import your Contacts from other accounts to Yahoo!”
- Select Facebook and allow permission
- Click “View imported contacts”
- Under Tools, select Export, then Yahoo CSV, type in captcha code and save the CSV file
- Now go to Google+, to your Circles tab
- Go to “find and invite” then “upload address book”
- Locate your saved CSV file and click OK
- The contacts will now appear and be available to add to circles
